Congressional Art Competition Submissions Due

he Congressional Art Competition is done in collaboration with the Office of Secretary of Education and the Arts, the West Virginia Division of Culture and History, and the United States Congressional Delegation. The Congressional Art Competition gives high school students in public and private schools the chance to have their artwork displayed in the United States Capitol. Students are invited to submit art work in many different mediums including paintings, drawings, collages, prints, mixed media, computer generated art, and photography. A winner from each of the three congressional delegations is chosen and the art work is displayed in the Nation’s Capital. The Office of Secretary of Education and the Arts along with the Division of Culture and History hosts an art exhibition, an art workshop, and an awards ceremony for the participants, winners, and congressional delegation. The Congressional Art Competition is a celebration of our state’s artistic students and gives them a chance to show their work on both a state and national level.
